Barrington Braithwaite is a Guyanese Artist Writer whose work spans thirty five years of writing, illustrating and the creation of comic books and comic strips for local newspapers and books that he has self published. Braithwaite's work is uniquely Guyanese, revolving around folklore and the history of Guyana's long colonial experience that is linked to its legends. His influences however are universal, his work acknowledges the total link of the myriad human experience across cultures yet interlinked, his comic book heroes are infused with the Afro Caribbean, wild coast essence and does not ignore the multi-cultural human world that envelopes his root inspiration.
Most recently, he has spearheaded a movement of RESCU, which stands for Research Evocations on Social Conduct Urgencies and is intended as is an information based drive, that intends to project an understanding of realities already infesting progressively all levels of our social fabric.
